Wager is a band, not just a bunch of ever-changing sidemen. The band members have shared 30 years of working together making some of Vancouver's best dance music.

With roots in the popular 1970s club band Mantra and local legends the R&B All Stars, lead singer Al Lynch, drummer Rick Hill, keyboardist Al Davidson, guitar player Russell Marsland and bass player Warren Gill have forged the kind of sound that only comes from shared experience. On special occasions a vintage horn section assists with a set of '60s R&B.

Wager has performed successfully for functions as diverse as the Family Ball and softball tournaments; Endeavour and high school dances; as well as for organizations as varied as Ronald McDonald House, Sun Microsystems, the UBC Medical Ball, the Truck Loggers Association, the Abbotsford International Air Show, most major legal and accounting firms; and countless private parties, dances, meetings, international and local conventions, weddings, graduations and reunions in venues ranging from BC Place Stadium, the Commodore, and the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre to hotel ballrooms, dance halls, community centres, private homes and yachts.
